Getting Home...

Ahhh... those last pictures in the sandstorm reminded me... I wanted to share about the adventure of getting HOME!  Just hours before we were scheduled to leave Luxor, a sandstorm suddenly kicked up.  (Really, we were swimming in the pool in the morning, and came out after our showers to what seemed like a smoky haze!)  Soon after we arrived at the airport, our flight was delayed by several hours.  Apparently our plane had to land elsewhere in Egypt due to the conditions.  Slowly, flights were being canceled around us and people were being sent to hotels.  But our plane was able to get through and they quickly boarded us!  An hour into our flight, we were told that our crew had already logged in too many hours (something John and I suspected) and so were had to land in ROME just to change crews!  Our kids had been troopers up to that point, but our little man was not happy when we woke him up just past midnight to buckle up for landing just to be told that we were NOT home yet!  In the end, I fell into my bed at 5:15 am on Thursday morning.  It was a long night, but we were all happy to be in our beds!

Photos from EGYPT

It's hard to believe that we came home from Egypt only a week ago!  As the kids got back to school on Wednesday, I've finally found some time to sort through the pictures and pick a few to post!

We really had an amazing trip... I think we managed a pretty good balance of relaxing by the pool and getting in some great sightseeing!

The kids loved the hotel!

There was a resident camel, Ramesses.

Everywhere we went, families wanted their picture with Lane & Ryan.

Easter Break

We have had a fun-filled and adventurous Easter break - and it's not even over yet!  With 3 1/2 weeks off, we've had plenty of time to play!

The break started with Yaya & Papa's visit.  The following weekend, we visited Longleat Safari Park and celebrated Easter!  I'll share a few pictures from that weekend below and then will post soon about our trip to EGYPT!

On the way to Longleat, we passed Stonehenge.

Longleat Safari Park

The kids loved the hedge maze!

We were relieved to finally find out way out!

We saw lots of animals in the park.

And made a stop to feed the birds.

Lane was attacked!

Then we rode the safari bus to see the African animals.

It really was neat to drive so close.

Until this angry jaguar attacked our bus!

Easter Baskets - Kids got Easter "eggs" this year instead of "bunnies"!

Easter Egg Hunt

Ryan found his last egg!

Off to church!

Our First Visitors

Over the last week, we had our first visitors - Yaya & Papa Fun!  We loved seeing them and getting to show them around a bit.  They got to see the kids' school, Holyport & Maidenhead, some neighboring villages, Windsor Castle and a bit of London.

While they were here, we graciously allowed them some "quality time" with the kiddos while John and I escaped for a 24-hour getaway to the Cotswolds to celebrate our anniversary (fourteen years later this month)!

The kids audio tour at Windsor Castle was amazing!
